Electronic Signature Disclosure & Consent
01 // Legal Effect of Electronic Signature
Your electronic signature — typing your full legal name in the designated signature field of a merchant application at apply.mefdup.com — is a legally binding signature with the same legal force and effect as a handwritten ink signature on a paper document.
This is established by the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN Act) and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA), both of which recognize electronic signatures as legally valid and enforceable.
When you type your name and click “Submit Application,” you are signing the merchant application with a legally binding electronic signature. The application is then locked — it cannot be altered after submission. A copy is generated and made available to you immediately for download.
02 // What You Are Consenting To
By using our electronic signature process, you consent to:
- Using electronic means to sign your merchant application in lieu of a handwritten signature
- Receiving your signed application as an electronic PDF document rather than a paper document
- MEnterprise Firm Inc. and its ISO partners relying on your electronic signature as authentic and legally binding
- The certification statement presented on the review page, which confirms that all information you have provided is true, complete, and accurate to the best of your knowledge
- Authorizing MEnterprise Firm Inc. and its designated ISO partners to verify the information provided and obtain credit and background reports as necessary for merchant underwriting
03 // Authentication and Integrity
To ensure the authenticity and integrity of electronic signatures, we capture and embed the following information in every signed application:
- Typed signature: Your full legal name as entered in the signature field
- Submission timestamp: The exact date and time the application was submitted, recorded in the application PDF and our database
- IP address: The IP address of the device used to submit the application, embedded in Section V of the signed PDF
- Verification code: A unique verification code issued upon submission that allows the authenticity of the application to be confirmed without exposing personal information
- Application lock: The application record is cryptographically locked at submission — no modifications are possible after signing
04 // Technical Requirements
To use our electronic signature process, you need:
- A modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge — current or prior major version)
- Internet access sufficient to load and submit a web form
- Ability to receive email at the address provided in your application (for confirmation and document delivery)
- Ability to open and view PDF documents (for your signed application copy)
If you cannot meet these technical requirements, contact us at cash@mef.money to discuss alternatives.
05 // Right to Paper Copy
You have the right to receive a paper copy of any document you sign electronically through our system. To request a paper copy:
- Email cash@mef.money with subject “Paper Copy Request — [Your MER Number]”
- We will mail a printed copy to the business address on file within 10 business days
- There is no fee for the first paper copy request per application
Note that a PDF copy of your signed application is provided to you immediately upon submission and is available for download at any time from your confirmation screen.
06 // Withdrawing Consent
You may withdraw consent to use electronic signatures before submitting your application by simply not completing the signature step. Once an application has been submitted and signed, the signature is legally binding and cannot be withdrawn. If you need to correct information after submission, a new application must be started.
Withdrawal of consent to electronic signatures does not affect the legal validity of any application you have already signed.
07 // Record Keeping
Signed application records are retained for a minimum of 7 years in accordance with our data retention policy and ISO partner agreement requirements. During this period, you may request access to your signed records at any time by contacting cash@mef.money.
